What this site collects, why, and who handles it.
This site does not use advertising, tracking cookies or third-party analytics. It never sells your information. It collects only what you choose to send, plus anonymous page counts.
When a page loads, the site records the page path and a few button clicks, such as opening a free story. It stores no cookies, no names, no email addresses and no visitor IDs. Our host, Netlify, briefly uses your IP address to block abuse, and we do not store it.
If you sign up, your email address and optional first name go to Kit (kit.com), the email service. The site also counts which page the signup came from, without your email. You get about one email a month, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
Messages you send through these forms go to Netlify Forms and then to Xavier's inbox. They are used only to reply to you. Questions you send through Ask Xavier are published only if you give permission on the form.
Free stories are delivered by BookFunnel, and buy buttons go to retailers such as Amazon. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Most pages serve their fonts from this site. A few pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which can see your IP address when they load. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs.
If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before you sign up or send a message.
You can unsubscribe from any email at any time. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email xavier@xavierschwindt.com.
